Intellectuals Behind Anti-Semitism

by Cynthia Ozick

Anti-Semitism is a movement of the cleverest: cultivated elites, learned professors and scholarly theorists in "social justice".

Anti-Semitism is generally thought of as brutish, the mentality of mobs, the work of the ignorant, the poorly schooled, the gutter roughnecks, the torch carriers. But these are only the servants, not the savants, of anti-Semitism. Mobs execute and intellectuals promulgate. Thugs have furies, intellectuals have causes.

The Inquisition was the brainchild is not of illiterates, but of the most lettered and lofty prelates. Goebbels had a degree in philology. Hitler fancied himself a painter and doubtless knew something of Dürer and da Vinci. Pogroms aroused the murderous rampage of peasants, but they were instigated by the cream of Russian officialdom.

Stupid mobs are spurred by clever goaders: The book burners were inspired by the temperamentally bookish - who else could know which books to burn? Even invidious folk myths have intellectual roots, as when early biblical linguists mistranslated as horns of the rays of light emanating from Moses’ brow.

In the medieval era of successive plagues, the Jews were accused of poisoning the wells. In city after city across Europe between 1348 and 1351, whole communities of Jews were massacred.

The fanatical shooters who assault synagogues and kosher food markets are the product of committed teachers, and articulate authors of the books and pamphlets that litter their gun-filled rooms. A venerable university press publishes an academic volume reviving an ancient blood libel in its claim that Israeli Jews deliberately maim innocent Palestinians.

The campus zealotry of Students for Justice in Palestine is hardly a spontaneous youthful expression of outrage funded by pocket money. Their activities include costly defamatory installations of so-called apartheid walls, checkpoints, die-ins, chants, hostile invasions of classrooms and meetings, and thuggish disruptions of visiting speakers. (Who are not cheap – paid by Arab money!)

Anti-Semitism dressed in the sheep’s clothing of social justice is the province of elevated pitchmen - cultivated elites, (highly) learned professors, scholarly theorists.

Marxism is a movement of the deluded; anti-Semitism is a movement of the cleverest. When students become inquisitors and administrations are feeble, and when the elect succumb to the political haters, a nation’s conscience losers. A vengeful mob is a fearsome thing, but the true monsters are its teachers.

Social Division is Primary Threat to Israel

Only 23% of respondents saw the Iranian nuclear threat as the primary danger, and 18% the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. Curiously, while 59% of Jewish respondents viewed polarization as the greatest threat, only 39% of Arab participants said the same, possibly due to higher Arab sympathy with Palestinians.

Food for Thoughtby Steven Shamrak

The intentions of Fatah/PA/PLO/Hamas have never been to achieve their independence, rather, the eradication of the Jewish state and removal of all Jews from our land. We also must remember, and many have forgotten or do not want to know, that Judea, Samaria, and Gaza are part of Eretz-Israel - Jewish ancestral land! Jordan, according to the League of Nations mandate, is also part of Israel. Anyone who disagrees with this must question the legitimacy of many Arab and Muslim states in the Middle East too!

No Peace Progress only Calls for 'Restraint'

The mediators of the fragile Gaza ceasefire expressed their support for US President Donald Trump’s peace plan for the Gaza Strip, but little progress was made on implementing the plan beyond the current truce. A joint statement issued by the US, Qatar, Egypt and Turkey was light on details and didn’t contain any new announcement.

New Attack Plan on Iran is Required

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to share with US President Donald Trump Israel's fears that Iran is accelerating the rebuilding of its ballistic missile program and nuclear infrastructure, as well as producing missiles at an unprecedented rate. Netanyahu and Trump are expected to meet at the US president’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida at the end of the month.

Will Hezbollah be Disarmed before Deadline?

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the US hoped talks between Lebanese authorities and Israel would lead to a strong Lebanese government and see the Hezbollah terrorist group disarmed. “Clearly, if they threaten Israel, there will be no peace,” Rubio said. Israel has publicly urged Lebanese authorities to fulfill a commitment under the truce to disarm Hezbollah, warning that it would act "as necessary" if Lebanon does not take steps against the Iran-aligned proxy terror group. Lebanon and Israel have been officially enemy states for more than 70 years. (Members of Hezbollah would rather all be martyred – and take all Lebanon with them.)

‘Project Sunrise’ for Gaza

A US proposal to rebuild war-torn Gaza into a high-tech, luxurious coastal destination over the next two decades has been pitched to possible donor countries. The project, which would cost $112 billion over the first 10 years. Earlier this year, Trump floated an idea for the US to take over and rebuild the Strip to create “the Riviera of the Middle East,” while Palestinian residents were permanently relocated. His announcement was rebuked by several countries but was welcomed by Israel’s government. (The project will only succeed when all enemies’ population is relocated from Gaza, and Gaza reunites with Israel.)

Gas Deal with Egypt

Netanyahu announced $34.7 billion natural gas deal with Egypt. The deal, which US reportedly pressed Israel to back, was briefly stalled earlier this year after the energy minister cited a lack of assurances that Israeli market would receive ‘fair prices’.

Qatar won't Fund Gaza Reconstruction

Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed al-Thani and Foreign Minister Mohammed AlThani declared that Qatar will not fund reconstruction of Gaza, saying: “We will not rebuild what Israel destroyed. We will continue to support the Palestinian people (terrorists), but we will not finance rebuilding what others destroyed.” Meanwhile, the US efforts to transition to the plan’s second phase face obstacles, especially around forming the international stabilization force (ISF). Currently, few Arab or Muslim countries are willing to commit thousands of troops to Gaza under Israeli oversight. (The enemies of Israel are only happy to finance Hamas terrorists, but not the relocation of Gazans to safety from the war zone and securing their future wellbeing.)

Israel having Problem with Trump Administration

Tensions are rising between Israel and the Trump administration. At the center of the dispute is Israel’s insistence that any Gaza arrangement must include the complete disarmament of Hamas.  Israeli officials fear that key advisers around Trump, especially Witkoff, are attempting to steer the president toward diluting that requirement. Israel dismisses cosmetic measures, such as Hamas surrendering only heavy weapons while retaining small arms, or transferring weapons to Palestinian Authority-controlled depots. Large-scale IDF operation may be unavoidable in the coming months to dismantle Hamas’s military capabilities. (What has happened to a "Gaza Riviera" and removal of the Hamas supporting population from Gaza?)

Hezbollah is still a Threat

The Israel Defense Forces said that Hezbollah has violated the ceasefire with Israel more than 1,900 times since it took effect. The terror group continues effort to rebuild its capabilities in southern Lebanon. “The IDF will continue to act to remove any threat to the State of Israel,” the statement said. “We will not allow the enemy to rebuild its strength,” said IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir. “We will respond to every violation of the agreement and move to thwart threats in advance.” (Only Israel can help the Lebanese government to completely ‘neutralise’ Hezbollah.)

Israel is the Nvidia's Second Home

Nvidia, the world’s most valuable company with a market value of about $4.3 trillion, officially announced plans to build a major new campus in northern Israel, to be located in Kiryat Tivon. Israel is already the company’s largest and most important development center outside the United States, and Nvidia is one of the largest employers in the Israeli hightech sector.

Quote of the Week:

“Israel needs no permission to defend itself. Israel assesses its own security needs and will take whatever measures it deems necessary to protect its citizens. Disarming Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations in Lebanon, as well as ending Iran’s proxy activities more broadly, is a key step to ensuring peace in Lebanon and across the region.” -  Michel Issa, a new United States ambassador to Lebanon - Stating the obvious! Although, it is nice of him to say it - even if it contradicts the actual attitude and actions toward Israel of his boss.

Hamas War against Zionism and Christianity

by Joshua Klien

Mahmoud al-Zahar, a founder of the Hamas terror group and one of its current leaders, made the (truthful) outrageous claims.

“The entire 510 million square kilometers of planet Earth will come under [a system] where there is no injustice, no oppression, no treachery, no Zionism, no treacherous Christianity, and no killings and crimes, like those being committed against the Palestinians, and against the Arabs in all the Arab countries – in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and other countries,” he said.

Hamas’s original charter, which claims that “peace and quiet” for Jews and Christians will only be possible “under the wing of Islam,” repeatedly cites the Koran and other mainstream Islamic texts.

Al-Zahar previously claimed, in reference to the entire State of Israel, that “removing the Jews from the land they occupied in 1948 is an immutable principle because it appears in the Book of Allah.”

He also blamed Jews for having “corrupted” European societies (He is not just anti-Zionist, but anti-Europe as well).

Abu Rudeineh, the official spokesman for Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas, stated: "not a single settlement will remain on the land of the independent state of Palestine." (Sounds like 'moderate' Palestinian terrorists are planning "ethnic cleansing" of Jews. Then, why is the removal, not killing, of the enemies, who aim to commit genocide of Jews, from the Jewish land not 'OK'?)

In 2010, the Hamas chieftain insisted that Muslims must construct a mosque near Ground Zero, explaining that Muslims worldwide are united in a common cause. (Fundamentally, nothing has changed since! The same ideology guides Fatah, the PLO and other terrorist groups. This is Islam’s goal for the ENTIRE WORLD.)
