It is false to state that the Zionist project prevented the emergence of an independent Palestinian Arab state after World War 2. Such a state was integral to the UN partition plan. What did prevent it was the refusal of the Arabs (continuing to this day) to accept Jewish self-determination in any area, however small.
There are currently 22 Arab states with a joint area at least 400 times, and a population (only) 50 times, greater than Israel... ( Not so long ago, most of so-called Palestinians have come from those states!)
Not a single one of these entities is a democracy, and few are 'secular' in any meaningful sense. Why should Jews abandon their right to self-determination in their own tiny oasis of democracy and trust their futures to the chimera of a "single country, a democratic secular state of Palestine" containing all Jews (like in Gaza?) and Palestinian Arabs.
The religious freedoms and the very existence of religious and ethnic minorities all over the Middle East - Christians, Yazidis, Druze, Kurds, Assyrians - are currently under threat from resurgent Arab-Islamic supremacism. Attacking Israel's legitimacy is the new-old imperial project to subjugate the Jewish minority, the only one that has yet shown the ability to defend itself. (Without Israel as the Jewish state all religious holy sites - Jewish, Christian and even most Muslim ones - will be destroyed and the will be no Easter for Christians in Jerusalem and Bethlehem!)

'Ugly Nazi' Using Its Best Tools Against Israel
1. Hypocrisy: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon attacked Israel, saying it needed to do more to protect the lives of Palestinian Arab children during counter-terror operations in Gaza. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu blasted the UN's hypocrisy. "This is a dark day for the United Nations," Netanyahu said. "Instead of mentioning the fact that Hamas turned Gaza's children into hostages when it fired from kindergartens on the children of Israel, the UN chooses again to preach to Israel." (In Yemen, at least 279 children died in 10 weeks of violence - Ban Ki-Moon does not criticize Saudi Arabia for war it conducts in Yemen - no 'outrage' here! And military experts have said that Israel has done more to protect civilians than any other armed forces. If Israelis guilty of war crimes, the US , Great Britain, Franceand others are guilty of worse crimes.)
2. Smear: In her initial draft from last month, Leila Zerrougui of Algeria , the UN's Special Envoy on Children in Armed Conflict, named Israel among the worst abusers of child rights including Islamic State and Boko Haram. After Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu personally appealed to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon Israel was taken off the list. (For how long is Israelgoing tolerate this 'UN-bias' attitude of the 'Ugly Nazi'?)

Hamas has been passing to Israel information on rival Salafist jihadists in the Gaza Strip hoping the Jewish state will target those militants, an Egyptian security source told. Spanish Town " Camp Kill Jews" Changes Its Name
Following a vote and regional government approval, Spanish town Castrillo Matajudious, which translates to "Camp Kill Jews," has officially changed its name back to Castrillo Mota de Judios ("Jews' Hill Camp"). Documents prove the town's original name was indeed "Jew's Hill Camp," but that it was changed to "Camp Kill Jews" in 1627, in the wake of a 1492 edict ordering Jews to convert to Christianity or face expulsion. Iran 's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ruled out freezing sensitive nuclear work in the country for a long time and said sanctions imposed on it should be lifted as soon it reaches a final deal with major powers. The parliament of Tajikistan passed a law annulling the citizenship of nationals fighting abroad with organizations such as the radical Islamic State group (ISIS). More than 400 Tajiks have joined the brutal ISIS insurgency in Iraq and Syria . (Tajik government has no problem with making its citizens-terrorists stateless.
