The United States circulated a draft UN resolution proposing an international stabilization force for Gaza and a transitional governance framework to follow the ceasefire.
A weakly mandated international force that cannot or will not act decisively would simply become a fixed obstacle between Israeli forces and the very terrorists an operation claims to neutralize. The UN has a long history of such failed forces. For Israel it is life or death.
There are three practical reasons Israel must veto or otherwise block any deployment it cannot fully control.
First: A “multinational” force is only as neutral as its contributors and commanders. Some of the nations discussed as potential contributors-powers with anti-Israel rhetoric. Israel cannot be expected to share sensitive security information or cede de facto control over border security to nations the Israeli public and leadership fundamentally distrust. Second: Regional “stabilization” and peacekeeping missions have a tragic track record when they lack clear enforcement authority and local legitimacy. The UN and multinational operations in Lebanon, Sinai, and elsewhere have failed to prevent rearmament, cross-border terrorism, and the resurgence of militias.
Third: The US draft and subsequent reporting mention a “Board of Peace,” a technocratic transitional administration, and timelines-but they are thin on command structures.
If the UN or any external actor seeks to help Gaza recover, they must do so on terms that respect Israel’s fundamental right to defend itself. That requires clear, enforceable safeguards, contributors acceptable to Israel, and a command structure that eliminates intelligence gaps rather than creating them. Anything less risky substituting international illusions for real security - and that would be neither peace nor justice for Israel. (International forces have FAILED since the 1950’s.)

France raised its concern with the PA about recent illicit payments Ramallah made to Palestinian security prisoners, but will contribute 100 million euros ($116.62 million) in humanitarian aid to Gaza for 2025.

Iran Sends Weapons to Judea and Samaria

Iran has significantly escalated its efforts to arm terrorist proxies in Judea and Samaria, quietly smuggling advanced weaponry into the territory in recent months.
Following the Trump-backed ceasefire between Israel and Hamas last month, Islamic Jihad shifted its operational focus to Judea and Samaria. While Islamic Jihad remains the most active Iranian proxy in cities such as Hebron, Shechem (Nablus), Jenin, and Jericho, it is joined by factions from the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and Hamas’s local cells - 28 groups in total.
These terror groups have acquired weaponry previously unseen in Judea and Samaria, including explosive drones, anti-tank missiles, rocket-propelled grenades, and advanced rockets.
Hamas declared that Judea and Samaria would “continue to be a leading arena of resistance” immediately after the October 10 ceasefire.
Iran is now attempting to funnel weapons through Jordan and Lebanon. Recent IDF operations have intercepted Iranian arms shipments, including a drone carrying 10 guns from Jordan. Israeli forces thwarted two Quds Force smuggling attempts from Lebanon in July.
Photographs from a Hebron weapons depot revealed missile production facilities, indicating that terror groups in Judea and Samaria are now capable of manufacturing advanced weapons independently.
