Israel's PR - Must We Care? by Ronn Torossian The great Zionist leader Ze’ev Jabotinsky once said: “It is not the antisemitism of men; it is, above all, the antisemitism of things, the inherent xenophobia of the body social or the body economic under which we suffer.” This “antisemitism of things” which Jabotinsky spoke of today includes nations and media. The post October 7th world PR doesn’t matter. We cannot win and we must not try to. What matters is what we do, not what they say, and we must worry about Jewish lives and sensibilities not about what enemies think. Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar rightfully announced the closure of Israel’s embassy in Ireland noting, “The actions and anti-Semitic rhetoric used by Ireland against Israel are rooted in the delegitimization and demonization of the Jewish state, along with double standards. Ireland has crossed every red line in its relations with Israel.” Mainstream media is quoting terrorist rapist baby killers. But how many of these media outlets support these terrorist baby killers? How many of them are openly hostile? As the research notes, “This overwhelming reliance on Hamas-controlled data has created a narrative that disproportionately portrays Israel as targeting civilians.” It leads directly to hating Israel and Jews. Israel not Fooled by New Syria Leaders Israel’s deputy foreign minister said Syria’s new leaders are “wolves in clothes of sheep,” who are trying to persuade the world they are not radical Islamists. “We’re not fooled by many of the conversations and interviews of those rebel groups who are, in fact, terrorist groups,” Sharren Haskel said. She said Israel won’t make the same mistake it made with Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist group that indicated support for coexistence before launching the deadly Oct. 7, 2023 terrorist attacks that triggered the war in Gaza. Turkey is Ready to Expand Its Borders Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that it is his country's destiny to expand its borders, particularly into Syria. According to him, "Just as a person cannot escape his destiny, Turkey and the Turkish nation cannot escape or hide from their destiny. As a nation, we have to see the mission that history has assigned to us and act accordingly. UNRWA Lost its Legitimacy Sweden announced on Friday that it will no longer fund the UN agency for Palestinian refugees and their descendants, UNRWA. Stockholm will instead bolster its humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip via other channels. Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli hailed Sweden’s decision, saying it was “courageous and critical,” and that UNRWA “has lost its legitimacy to exist” due to involvement in terror activities by staff members. Yemen Ablaze After Israeli Retaliation In a unique coincidence, IAF fighter jets were already heading to Yemen when the Houthis launched a surface-to-surface ballistic missile at central Israel - 14 warplanes plus refuelers and spy planes were in the skies and heading for Yemen. At least nine people were killed. “The IDF conducted precise strikes on Houthi military targets in Yemen, including ports and energy infrastructure in Sana’a, which the Houthis have been using in ways that effectively contributed to their military action,” IDF Spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said.
