"We are not at war with Islam, we are at war with those who have perverted Islam," said President Obama at a recent summit on combating violent extremists. He also defended his decision not to call the war against ISIS as a religious one.
White House officials downplayed calls to focus on Islamist terrorism in a three-day summit aimed at preventing violent extremism, insisting that recent attacks should not lead to stereotyping of certain communities as higher risk.
...the administration is adamant that delegates should also discuss lessons from other conflicts, such as the fight against Farc in Colombia and attacks by Christians on Sikh or Jewish targets, and rejects criticism it is being overly politically correct in taking such a broad approach.
Obama and his aides say they're wary of elevating the terrorists who committed attacks in Paris and Copenhageninto religious warriors, even if those culprits were acting in the name of Islam. And officials worry Muslim communities - most of which reject extremist ideology (When and How? The "Silent Majority" is still suspiciously silent!) - could be further ostracized if the government focuses on radical cells.(Security of the US is being compromised due for the fear to offend or ostracize a terrorist propagating community? It is an interesting concept - leading to self-destruction!)
1) Normally, an advanced new weapon system with a battle-proven success rate of 90 percent would have global defense procurement agencies on the phone in minutes. ButIsrael's Iron Dome rocket interceptor is yet to prove a hit with buyers abroad. 2) Hamas has twice dispatched "frogman terrorists" to try to attack Israel. The attempts were foiled, but they brought out the fact that with hundreds of kilometers of shoreline to patrol, catching maritime infiltrators is a major challenge for Israel. DSIT technology is using sound propagation to detect objects underwater. (Most country would not put up with a terror threat on their doorstep. They'd attack and get rid of the terrorists. Only Israel is not allowed to remove such a cancer, because the world would prefer Israeldisappear.)

The best option for ISIS to survive sustainable attacks from the coalition is to move to the East and wage a Holy war against its mortal enemy, the Iranian Shia government controlled by Ayatollahs. There will be no international objection!
Accusing Binyamin Netanyahu of leaking "sensitive" information on US nuclear negotiations with Iran skews the fact of an almost done deal between US President Barack Obama and Iran 's President Hassan Rouhani. It wants onlyIran 's paramount leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's endorsement. In attempting to bring him round, Washington is using media spin tactics which Netanyahu's opponents have seized on to accuse him of sabotaging relations with Washington. Netanyahu is not alone in objecting to Obama'sIran policy. So too do the Saudis, some Gulf emirates andEgypt.
Israel will not pay compensation to the family of anti-Israel ISM activist Rachel Corrie, who was crushed by an IDF bulldozer in 2003 in Gaza . The court noted that Corrie, who was 23 years old, was fully aware that she was in danger and that she could have prevented her own death by moving out of the path of the bulldozer. (Finally, the Israeli legal system got it right!)
The US and Iran are in a last-ditch effort to rescue their nuclear diplomacy before it falls into deep crisis. Some observers say the talks are beyond saving. The Obama administration may have hit the limit of its concessions; andIran won't give way on centrifuges and enriched uranium stocks.
Ibrahim Alaimoa, one of the homeowners, denounced Hamas for bulldozing his modest home without warning, and he was unable take out any furniture and clothing for him and his family. Hamas claimed that the houses were built without a permit on government property. (No reports by 'Israel-friendly' correspondents, no condemnation by the 'Useless Nothing' or NGOs, the White House is also quiet!)
Bipartisan criticism of President Barack Obama's proposed authorization of force against ISIS mostly has to do with the use of US troops and limits on the commander-in-chief. But the President's proposed resolution specifically singles out several ethnic groups threatened by ISIS: Iraqi Christians, Yezidis and Turkmens, but says nothing about Jews.
Will Israel Vote the Self-hating Left Out?
The coming March 17 elections are a struggle for survival for Meretz. The radical leftist party, which in roughly thirty years has injected its concept of a two-state solution into mainstream Israeli political discourse from the extreme left fringe it started as, is apparently afraid that it may disappear in the coming elections.
Iran still stalling atomic probe as deal deadline looms. Tehrancontinues to withhold full cooperation in 2 areas of investigation that it was supposed to have given by August last year. "Iran has not provided any explanations that enable the agency to clarify the outstanding practical measures," the IAEA said, referring to allegations of explosives tests and other activity that could be used to develop nuclear bombs.
A Nigerian government spokesman said "Israel has been a crucial and loyal ally in our fight against Boko Haram. It is a sad reality that Israel has a great deal of experience confronting terrorism." Mike Omeri, the chief coordinating spokesman of the National Information Center, based inAbuja said. "Our Israeli partners have used that experience, and the unique expertise gained over years of fighting terror within its own borders, to assist us."
The UN warned last week violence could once break out once again between Israel and Hamas unless donor countries fulfilled the monetary pledges to help rebuild Gaza. Some $5.4 billion was pledged for the Palestinians at a Cairoconference in October, about half of which was earmarked forGaza, but mostly not delivered.
Quote of the Week:
"...the American people to be deeply concerned when youve got a bunch of violent, vicious zealots who behead people or randomly shoot a bunch of folks in a deli in Paris. We devote enormous resources to that, and it is right and appropriate for us to be vigilant and aggressive in trying to deal with that - the same way a big city mayors got to cut the crime rate down if he wants that city to thrive." - President Obama, trivializing Islamic threat - How can the West win "war on terror", if 'Commander in Chief' doesn't take the enemy seriously?

I don't know another nation on earth where guests on official visits utter disrespectful and offensive words. But I also don't know another nation on earth which has recorded so many miracles. Imagine a helpless, naked Jew at the gas ovens facing a Nazi official, who thinks he will get rid of the "Jewish cancer" - get rid of this unique phenomenon of 2,000 years.
Could that helpless, naked Jew imagine that in 50 years other Jews will be flying F-16's in the skies over Israel? Could that helpless Jew imagine that Israel's population today would be nine times that of 1948, the year of the state's creation? Could that helpless Jew imagine that Israel is much happier than all the European countries? Could that helpless Jew imagine that Israel has the highest production of scientific publications per capita in the world?
Could that helpless Jew imagine that Israel has the highest worldwide publication of new books? Could that helpless Jew imagine that Israel is the only nation which began the XXI century with a net gain in the number of trees? Could that helpless Jew imagine that Israel has (the city) with largest number of chess grandmasters per capita of any city in the world? Could that helpless Jew imagine that Israel is the nation whose academics produce more scientific papers per capita than anywhere else in the world?
Could that helpless Jew imagine that Israel is the nation with the highest ratio of university degrees to the population in the world? Could that helpless Jew imagine that Israel is the country which, in proportion to its population, with the largest number of startup companies in the world? Could that helpless Jew imagine that Israel is the country with the highest percentage in the world of home computers per capita?
Could that helpless Jew imagine that Israel is the nation with the largest immigrant-absorbing model on earth? Unfortunately, you will not find Israel's goodness and superiority in the media (also Israeli), because it doesn't fit in with the stereotype of the colonialist Zionist occupier. In the world's consciousness, the word "Israel" must be equated with fear.
Israel just came out of another war against terrorists whose value is less than that of animals. Do you know of any animal species sheltering behind its own children?
But the Jewish State, despite its media, its cynical politicians, establishment, once again showed the world it is the best humanity has to offer.
This hope is impressed in the faces of Israel's fallen soldiers, its wounded an injured soldiers. In those faces there is joy de vivre, not sadness or hatred.
Terrorists and their Western appeasers want to destroy Israelbecause it is a light unto the nations. The only one in the world in which we live!
