There were virtual riots outside of the Israeli embassy inLondon, tens of thousands of people marched there in support of... With every march came cries that the IDF were perpetrating a massacre in Gaza ...
There was no massacre of Palestinians at the hands of the IDF last summer. But in Syria there is - right now! But you would be forgiven for being unaware of it. For this time there aren't tens of thousands demonstrating on the streets. There are no demonstrations at all. There are no rallies. There are no screams of massacre. There are no demands on governments to take action.
There is simply a sad, deafening silence!
It's not as if people don't know what's happening in the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Syria , Yarmouk. The story took pride of place on Sky News, it has been published by every major newspaper around the world. Yet there is no action. The heat, the friction, the activism of the summer is nowhere to be found.
In the United Kingdom (and around the world) there is no shortage of organizations dedicated to the Palestinian cause. The Palestine Solidarity Campaign was the main organizer of the demonstrations and of a boycott campaign against Israeland yet the cause of Palestinian suffering in Syria is noticeable only for its absence from their website. There are no events planned, there are no calls for aid, there are no plans to lobby Members of Parliament to take action.
There is silence... when a real massacre of Palestinians happening there is silence from the very organization which exists to campaign on behalf of Palestinians.
This is a bizarre state of affairs indeed. But then perhaps they are only following the example set by Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestine Authority President. His words concerning Palestinians in Syria from 2013 are proving to be truly prophetic today: "It's better they die in Syria than give up their right of return"
Perhaps the silence regarding Palestinians in Syria and elsewhere in the Middle East comes from a belief that it is only worth demonstrating when a Palestinian is killed by an Israeli. Even if that means throwing around words like massacre, when there isn't one, and ignoring a real one while it happens...
Hamas deputy leader Ismail Haniyeh has declared during a press conference "Hamas negotiates with the enemy with arms, not talks... "We tell the Zionist enemy: you are all a target for us and the resistance, we will fight you until we finally get rid of you and take as many captives as possible to free our heroes."

When Assad had realized that an international force is ready to strike Syria, it took him one or two weeks to agree to remove and destroy all chemical weapon arsenal and facilities. The US has been conducting a useless negotiation with Iran for years, producing only an idiotic "Framework" and allowing Iran continue its nuclear arm program during the negotiation and possibly in the future!
Iran is building an explosive fleet of so-called "suicide kamikaze drones" while also providing know-how on assembling these new weapons to its terrorist allies Hamas and Hezbollah, according to a new report commissioned by the US Army.
'Empty words' - Nobody Cares
Just a quarter of the $3.5bn in aid pledged to rebuild Gaza has been delivered. The report from the Association of International Development Agencies found that only 26.8 percent ($945m) of the money pledged by donors at the Cairoconference six months ago has been released, and reconstruction and recovery have barely started in the besieged coastal enclave. (What money that does get to Gazais used to build new terror tunnels, rockets, etc. And they'll blame Israel for the miserable condition in Gaza.)
Israelis living and serving security around the Gaza Strip report harassment by Hamas snipers in recent weeks - a scare tactic apparently evolving into a major offensive as the Palestinian terrorists make massive preparations for the coming showdown.
The Republican US senator warned that future presidents may not honour any deal that President Barack Obama signs withTehran . Senator Tom Cotton said that he sees a potential military confrontation with Iran down the road if the US signs the deal with Iran . "If we agreed to the kind of proposal the Obama administration has made, then military confrontation may be further off, but it might also be nuclear." Former Prime Minister of Israel Ehud Barak said that "it would just take one night" to launch an effective strike to set back Iran's nuclear program.
The Islamic State group has released footage showing jihadists demolishing the ancient Assyrian city of Nimrud which was founded in the thirteenth century BCE and served as a major cultural center in pre-Islamic Mesopotamia, which is often regarded as the cradle of civilization.
North Korea supplied several shipments of missile components to Iran during recent nuclear talks and the transfers appear to violate United Nations sanctions on both countries. Details of the arms shipments were included in President Obama's daily intelligence briefings and officials suggested information about the transfers was kept secret from the United Nations, which is in charge of monitoring sanctions violations.
If the economic race into Iran gets out of control, a new generation will suddenly have jobs and cash and will seek to settle the score with the ayatollah regime. Khamenei is not interested in an agreement which will serve Rouhani, who is already striving to secure his second term as president thanks to the agreement. (Isolation is preferred by totalitarian regimes. It helps them to keep the population under control.)
A deal between Republican and Democratic senators was reached to support a bill that would let Congress have the final say on the Iran nuclear deal. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday unanimously approved, 19 to 0, legislation granting Congress a voice in negotiations on theIran nuclear accord.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has condemned Pope Francis for calling the 1915 mass killing of Armenians genocide, and warned him not to make such a statement again. The Pope became the first head of the Roman Catholic Church to publicly call the killing of as many as 1.5 million Armenians "genocide".

Two days after the US-led powers and Iran hailed a historic framework understanding designed to ensure that Iran's nuclear program is not enable to build nuclear weapons, six gaping areas of discrepancy emerged between American and Iranian accounts of what the agreement actually entails:
1. Sanctions: The US has made clear that economic sanctions will be lifted in phases, whereas the Iranian fact sheet provides for the immediate lifting of all sanctions as soon as a final agreement is signed, which is set for June 30. In fact, the US parameters state that sanctions will be suspended only after Iran has fulfilled all its obligations.
2. Enrichment: The American parameters provide for restrictions on enrichment for 15 years, while the Iranian fact sheet speaks of 10 years.
3. Development of advanced centrifuges at Fordo: The US says the framework rules out such development, while the Iranians say they are free to continue this work.
4. Inspections: The US says that Iran has agreed to surprise inspections, while the Iranians say that such consent is only temporary.
5. Stockpile of already enriched uranium: Contrary to the US account, Iran is making clear that its stockpile of already enriched uranium - "enough for seven bombs" if sufficiently enriched - will not be shipped out of the country, although it may be converted.
6. PMD: The issue of the Possible Military Dimensions of the Iranian program, central to the effort to thwart Iran, has not been resolved.
(The US states, first: "Iran will implement an agreed set of measures to address the IAEA's concerns regarding the Possible Military Dimensions (PMD) of its program." And they subsequently add: "All past UN Security Council resolutions on the Iran nuclear issue will be lifted simultaneous with the completion, by Iran, of nuclear-related actions addressing all key concerns - enrichment, Fordo, Arak, PMD, and transparency." The Iranian fact sheet does not address PMD.)
A US military option with regard to Iran remains on the table should Tehran violate the terms of a framework agreement to curb its nuclear program, according to US Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes. Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon said Israel trusts Washington 's intentions, but not Iranians who would be able to continue their nuclear program under the terms of the deal. Worse, Ya'alon explained, the Iranian nuclear program would now have international legitimacy.
